Apr. 17th, 2011 07:14 pmSo-- despite having his power nerfed in the city, Watanuki has retained his ability both to see spirits and to walk in dreams, albeit with limitations on what he could do in canon. Seeing as this is a magical world filled with people who have various weird powers and problems with spirits themselves, and seeing as his potential dream-walking time takes up something like two days of an RL week, I thought it would be good to put up a permissions post, to avoid stepping on any toes!
So, if you feel it's relevant to your character, please comment here with:
-What you're okay with Watanuki being able to know about your character just by looking. He has an inborn power to see ghosts, spirits, and other supernatural beings, and even abstractions like spiritually-enhanced emotion and traces of magic on a person. This has been nerfed, but he might still get a sense of it if your spiritually-affected character meets him face-to-face. How much is okay? If you'd prefer he not see anything at all, that's perfectly fine.
-Whether you'd be willing to have him pop up in your character's dreams. Normally, he can walk in dreams anywhere he's seen before; but his movement is now confined to six hours or so of the night, and only to places within the city. He can also meet people in his own dreams and even draw them there himself. Of course permission will be asked to communicate with your character this way, but if you'd prefer he have absolutely no access to your character's dreamscape (not even a handwaved, "Such and such was the mood he'd found in people's dreams that night..."), that's also fine!
-What your character would be able to tell about Watanuki. He's kind of an odd character-- he's immortal, he looks ten years younger than he actually is, he's got the reek of spirits hanging off him, his blood smells delicious to beings of the other world, and he knows a hell of a lot about magic for a skinny Japanese kid who runs around in women's clothing. Is this relevant to your character's interests?? (This is more just to get an idea of who he might be dealing with later, to keep future interactions free of awkward retcon. |D)
